Don't quote me on this, but I believe Vance and Hines makes a nice system for the Baby G. On the GStwin home page I believe there is even a sound clip of one Baby G modified thus. You love your little GS don't you...and you will grow to love this forum.

I just put my V&H on and it is sweet, really adds to the bike.

Well for one you could buy a hacksaw.  Instant loud!   ;)

Secondly a drill and drill bit can do wonders as well.

But seriously I'd look into the V&H full exhaust system.  You can also check out other companies that make slip ons.  Although there are only so many that make aftermarket exhausts for the GS.

Good luck!   :thumb:

Would it be possible though to just take out the baffle or do something to it? That would wake her up right?

Yeah, what Frost said.  It's loud.  Ear-piercingly loud.  Almost too loud at times.

i have welded a trombone to my exhaust.   It can be tuned also, just move the slide up and down. I can post some pics if yall want.

mine was pretty loud.  srinath made me a baffle that helps... but it's still loud.  I live in a townhouse.. and haven't had any complaint... yet...  :dunno:

Quote from: Frostis the baffle removable?...

not easily.  It was kind of a pain to position/install it.  It was a one-off piece srinath made, with parts he had at the time..

Dom

It's only loud when you gun it...like over 8500rpms.  It's not loud when you're just putting around town.  I actually like being loud...keeps people from moving into your lane when you are passing them.  I have only had it happen once since I have had the pipe but I was at like 4500 rpms and he looked drunk.

Just drill 5 equally spaced holes in yur exhaust. The ones in mine are from a 1/4 inch bit I think. It gives it a nice growl and a agressive sound. Not too loud @ all. I dont know if there are any preformance gains or losses. But my bike still runs like a top 11,000 miles after the drilling.

To make it quieter ... You can take that baffle out and insert a steel flat bar piece in each of the slotted holes but at varying angles ... or crimp the end, or insert a washer or 2 in the slots ... But too much and you start to lose flow  obviously ...
Cool.
