1) people would TRY to not let you pass them.
2) people switch lanes for NO reason QUICKLY.  You'd get killed.



Watching this... these people are soooo calm.....   these guys would be DEAD if they came here and did that..

I've only driven through atlanta a few times- but I don't ever want to do it again.  Traffic on the freeway was backed up due to construction, so some people were driving on the shoulder for about a 1/4 mile to get of at the next exit.  Well, and I've seen this happen twice, someone in a big truck pulls over JUST to block the people trying to exit and tried to ram someone trying to go around him.  People there have these big trucks for the sole purpose of using it as a tank and pushing people around, and they think they have a right to be a freeway vigilante.  If you were lane splitting there I have no doubt that they would pull over and purposely try and block or hit you.  I just can't get with that southern driving style.  People in cali, believe it or not, are more laid back and just don't take it so personal I think.

you really have to live here to understand...  those people on the side.. we call them vultures.  They screw up traffic WORSE and that's why they get blocked like that.  I mean... I'm only two exits up... why don't I take the shoulder?


same as people who wait to the VERY last second when a lane is ending...  everyone else gets over early except a couple vultures who speed way up to the last second....  These people have saved themselves what... 5, 10 minutes? But what about the 500 people they've cut off?


It's pretty bad, in general.  People also run red lights... like it will go yellow... then red... and two or three people will squeeze on through.  When I'm in my cage I scare them by taking off when my light turns green.  In all reality cops are WAY too focused on speeding and not focused enough on other general traffic enforcement.  Also, construction here is horrible.  they will work on teh same section of road for years... literally...

I think that if the la folks got angry every time someone waited until the last minute to merge in the we would be mad 100 times in 5 minutes and have a heart attack.   You'll be a happier person if you let them in instead of tailgate the guy in front of you like crazy.  Also, it makes jesus smile when you forgive.

lol we are mad 100 times in 5 minutes....   I hate the traffic here...  I drive north on my bike to get away from it.  Thankfully I live 2 min from my work

I'm pretty sure its the Carquenez bridge that he's going over. its the only bridge in the area where you pay the toll *After* crossing, other than the golden gate. Plus, I saw a bunch of signs on the freeway for Benicia and Martinez.
