Interesting the 04.

Two things jump out at me.

1. It has a throttle position sensor and some kind of solenoid wired into the igniter.

2. There are three wires from the neutral switch. Two go to the igniter.

Quite a bit different than earlier models.

Kerry, yes, it's permanent. That copy is the US version, I also have the other models too, UK, CANADA, AUSTRALIA, etc. it anyone needs those posted.

Isn't this diag. for US (P-03), Australia (P-24), Canada (P-28 ) and California (P-33) as indicated at the top of the page?:dunno:

This is curious:
My text for Canada is "Canada left paren. P-28 right paren." . Why does it appear in the post as(P-28 )?

Your right, this one covers USA, Australia, Canada, and the California models, I have the UK, Colombia, EU, and the Spain versions also.

Regarding the 04 schematic...my earlier post on this thread mentioned the CPU now in the igniter. My *guess* is that the 04 neutral switch is more in line with the GSXR switch you just obtained. With more data going to the Ignitor/"latent ECU" the software could adjust ignition attributes to meet desired demands.

Speculation - Maybe this could lead to EFI one day? Carbs are horribly mechanical and if Suzuki did this, as an option perhaps, they may realize some market share increase in this range of bike. This is idle speculation to be sure.
