Hey everyone, I need some help...I got a 95' GS500 &  right now I've got it  all apart, when I got it one of the caps on the left  side of the carb was cracked & the valve springs where worn, they had  also put aluminum foil down in under the springs to keep the valve needles from sticking (I'm guessing) anyways, I took it all  apart, cleaned it, and  put the new parts on, and adjusted the  throttle cable because of one pesky little problem of after I start it and let it warm up and I rev  the engin in neutral as it  hits 2,000rpm it  shoots  up to four or  five  thousand rpm and stays, well I thought it was  the cable and adjusted it,  also done the idle adjustments, it idles great, but back to the  main problem, I can't seem to find whats making it  rev up like it is, another  thing is that I don't have a breather for it, would this have  this kinda effect on it? It sucks way too much gas it's either from that or something I'm missing completely. Any help would be nice,  thanks in  advance...

From my experience with engines I'd say it's a lean mixture.  Either sucking air or a needle is set too lean. :dunno:
