Hello,  I just bought a '95 GS for my son to learn on.  it is the metalic purple.  I did some searches on purple, paint code, touch-up,etc. and can't find any info on the best way to get touch up paint.  Color-rite shows nothing for 95 Suzuki.

Any help will be appreciated.

I got to words for ya " Have Fun" I was looking for about 3 weeks everywheres possible and i just lucky found it. Called Suzuki itself " waste of time" called the dealer " waste of time" tryed everything. Called about 10 paint shops didn't have a clue what kinda paint it was. Mine was a persable blue or something almost like a purple probally. All i could do was take it to the paint shop " a part" and they tryed to match it the best they could, they came really close i am satisfied with it anyways. Hope that helps
Thanks for everyone's help.

Well, I went looking for paint when I had my '01, and my regular paint guy said "Yeah, I can get it, but it comes from Suzuki's Euro line, will take a while and cost a bunch."  I figure that most of the GS colors will be like that.  Personally, I'd just paint the whole bike a stock color that I like, it would cost less and look better.

:)  There was some purple bodywork on ebay (bright metalic '94) including some color-rite touch up paint.  the seller gave me the code and I just received confirmation from Doug at Color-Rite that it is still available!!!

So what purple part you want ... I have front fender, left side and square piece on the tail ... the tail and front fender I'd want some $$ for but the left and right (and right has all tabs busted) are free with purchase and just pay  shipping ... No tank needless to say ...
Cool.

Thanks for the offer Srinath.  I just need the paint for a fairing touch up. So far I'm not planning any panel replacement.

I'm working on this also. I have a Word document with all the color codes DECODED with COLOR pics in from ebay listings, GS twin photos, etc. It is good to 2002. I WANT A PICTURE OF YOUR BIKE TO ADD TO THE DATABASE. If you want a preliminary copy, send me a PM or look in my profile and send me an email address directly with an email address to attach it to.

The purpose of the doc is to save you time in identifying your color/tape set per year per part number. It won't help you locate or match it up, as seems to be your case. It should help restoration buffs buy tape sets to match original as the online part numbers are just voodoo in general. I have solicited input from the group previously BUT no one has come through with pics of their STOCK bikes (yeah, mods are the rage but some of us old fogeys like plain vanilla ice cream).

Go to a body shop that is bike friendly - another task in itself - they usually have gear or an eye for matching this kind of thing.

Locate an autopaint store. They do this for a living. Then getting the paint on the parts is trivial compared to getting the right paint.

Alot of places offer computer paint color match if you bring a piece you have they can match to it. Its not perfect buts its pretty darn close. I did it on my bike, I can see the differnce but other people can't. It's way better than it was.
