ok i did a couple of searches for performance clutches on here where maybe someone had talked about them but didnt find anything.

is there a after market clutch that gives you some serious grab?
i want to replace my clutch this spring along with the clutch plate which i beleive is rattling a little on take off.

I have a Barnett clutch in my race bike. No slipping problems. The plates are kevlar and not cork like factory. The clutch plates are the same as the 1st gen SV but the quantities are different. It is +/- 1 plate, don't remember which way. I can check later since I have an EBC clutch still in the package at home. EBC is another good brand.

how much did that barnett set you back? I take it you did the clutch install yourself. Ive swapped many motors , trannies and clutches on cars but never done a bike. would you say its not too hard?

I think it was around $90.

Very easy to do. It takes less than an hour to change the clutch and have the bike running again. Lean the bike to the left and you do not have to drain the oil.

I bought Barnett plates individually but the EBC was in a single package.
