Hard roll on kills bike??

OK I got the whole ignition lock and key problem fixed.
Gased her up, got it to start, sounds rough but runs.  If I lightly roll on the throttle it will rev to whatever I want.  If I give it a quick twist it dies immediatly.  Sorry if this is a noobish question and if it's been covered somewhere else (searching on a 28.8 modem blows).  Does this sound like I need to just clean out the carbs, air filter, or does it seems like a bigger problem?

OK here is the one problem that DJ gives you those funky ass plugs for.
Now tell me ... under load or idling in driveway ...
Anyway If you oprn throttle slowly and the bike revs up fine under load, and open throttle fast and it falls on its face making a sucking air sound and dies ... and everyhitng else in your carbs are perfect ... meaning everywhere else the bike is perfect ... the problem is ... slides comming up too fast. Plug one hole on the bottom. Get a 4-40 machine thread tap, and 4-40 nylon screws. tap in, install the screw and cut it and sand it flush. if the bike isn't perfect everywhere else ... fix that and see if this happens.

So far it just does it under idle.  Seeing as how the headlight is still off the bike and there are no tags or what not I was going to take it to the parking lot behind my house and play around with it and see what it could do, but low and behold yesterday was a f'ing fleet of cop cars there doing practice manuvers or something. :guns:
