At my workplace I oversaw the installation of surveillance cameras throughout the inside and outside of the building.... I couldn't help but have bias to where I park my bike (the motorcycle spot) and where I always park my car.  I mean... the whole parking, entrance, exits, and part of the road is covered anyway but still

anywho...  a guy with a k1200rs got his bike stolen.  An unmarked van with no tags, and 6 guys tossed it in the back.  I saw the tape... they definetely struggled but got it in there.  Our security people called the cops and the people were arrested right down the road (this is yesterday afternoon..)  Apparently there have been a string of bike thefts in the county over the past 6 months.. these were some of the arseholes doing it.

so... cool. One less thieving @$$hole off the street.

the area I live in has always had a problem with bike/car theft and breakins...  in my honest opinion people should take precautions....  remember... always park in a well lighted space.  I always park in places wit video surveillance....  try to make friends with your security people at school/work wherever...  buy 'em pizza one day.. I bet they'll start keeping a closer eye on your stuff

Yup, c.c.t.v. is your friend. Nothing to hide, nothing to fear.

Try convincing some people of that. It has saved a lot of lives, a lot of property and caught a lot of bad guys and yet some still resist.

I don't know how they officially caught them.  I do know that the bike was unharmed.. and that we are pressing charges.. of course.

The official police report won't be out for a couple days though

Have you seen one of those police spoof movies ... not police academy, more like Naked gun 2 1/2 or loaded weapon or some ... they have a mechanical arm that comes up from under the car and steel hand grabs the guys crotch as he's trying to steal the car ...
Cool.

What's the areas you're in with a string of bike thefts? Did he have any soft of security on his bike when then took it? Disc lock? Alarm? Anything?

northwest of atlanta...  I know cobb co. has had a major problems.. I've heard about it from a couple cop friends... hell some kid around here had his bike stripped and he's blaming me for it! (I think because I'm on gstwin and live in the area)   The whole situation sucks.

It was a bmw k1200rs (I think.. a k1200something) I know he doesn't use a disc lock..  but they literally picked the thing up and set it in the van and drove off.  It may have taken 30 seconds at most.  I thought it had some sort of alarm (or it may have been the guys vrod with an alarm..) but alarm or not it was quick.
