I traded the GS and bought an 84 gpz 900 ninja. I want an LED tail in it and remembered someone on here built them. I could give specs to him and he could quote me a price maybe? a name to email or email me at m_harborne@yahoo.com if you are him.

Just kidding, careful of that extra Gotwist
Accelerate like your being chased, Corner like you mean it, Brake as if you life depends on it.

Its you Vs the pavement.....who wins today?

I'm actually in the process of making more.

Around $50 shipped.

A little more time though, I'm having problems with getting boards.

So would it be 50$ even for the dimensions of the GPZ tail? And I plan to put a race tail on it with duel underseat exhaust abd would need a cutom application, would you be up for that later?

And i know im a heretic... :)  but im also overweight and the bike didnt have enough power to haul 250 lbs to my satisfaction. Im regretting it already as the ninja is very heavy, not nearly as nimble as the gs. If only i could have put a bigger motor in it....

Sorry, I thought you meant for the GS.

Well,  Depending on a few things I should be able to build it "custom" if it is not the same size.  I cant give a price because I dont know what you want. and I dont want to tell you $100 because it wont be that much.  Also it depends on how you want to control the LED's etc,  Brake, integrated, etc.

If you tell me exactly what your looking for I'll have a beter Idea.

I will get you measurements tomorow but all i would want would be a constant tailight and a brake light hooked to both the foot and the hand brake switches. Would I be able to use the same wiring to power this? Just king of unplug from one and resolder onto another?

Also, if i wanted led turn signals for the rear (later) could you do an amber color in a triangular shape for my custom flushmounts?

Im new to led technology so anything you tell me will be treated as gospel.

Wiring is very simple.   3 wires go to the old taillight.  Same 3 wires go to the new taillight.  Same wiring but you'll have to splice, instead of using a 1157 connector.

On the ones for the GS I use 3 clear LED's to light the license plate.  Have you thought about this?  The old lamps would use ambient light deflected down to light the license plate,  Mine point directly at it.  Make sense?  So the lens will need a clear bottom (like the GS) for this to work.  Otherwise another way to light the plate will have to be designed (you, me whoever)

Lastly  Installing into the flushmounts should be easy, after the taillight gets figured out and you know I'm not a thief you could send them to me and I could just put them in for you and send them back, or if I can buy them and then install it, and send them out.

Maybe this would be better in PM's?  If this doesn't contribute to the board I dont want to get in the way.

I made my own LED rear brake light the last few days. Was in between jobs, so needed something to do.

I posted what I did here http://www.mafts.org/forum2/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=91&posts=1#M645

stormer that looks great... How well does it light your license plate at night??

might want to put 2-3 let twords the bottom to keep the plate lit up..

Here, it is not illegal not to light up the rear plate  :)  So I actually did not put any white LEDs on to the PCB

vfrocket

cool, i was just thinking of thoes who need to have it lit, if you wanted to sell this...

Otherwise nice job, I like it.

You know what, I really hate the GS500E! That's because I love to do stuff to it.

VFRocket, I read your post about the Number Plate lights, and realised that I should have put them in.

Since it's easy to do stuff to the GS, I've gone and made Revision 2 of the LED brake light unit :)

Click here to see the picture

This one has almost the same layout of Revision 1 (Slight spacing changes for the LEDs), but the board is complete now. The little board is an optional add on which will make the middle horizontal row of LEDs flash when I brake. There is a row of 4 white LEDs facing down to light up the Number Plate, which wil be on the other side of the PCB.

And all this started as a test to see what LEDs would look like on the bike ;)
