Racer Question, track/race tires for the GS.

I am looking into buying a set of track day tires. So I figure, I should make them good ones, something to make the GS really stick.
Will a 150 rear work?? O cant imagine how it will but the guys at the local race shop said that there Dunlop 208 GP's will fit in a 150? this true?

from what ive seen on the board, if peeps dont use a slick, they will use th bt45's.  Super sticky

I love my  bridgestone tires. They are good enough for me. Maybe not good enough for Mr. Shumacher.

150 will fit, depending on profile you might need to remove the brake arm and pound a dent in it to fit around the tire.

I have a Dunlop 207 GP front (110/17) on the stock rim. They don't make a 110 in the newer 208GP style.
Dunlop 208GP rear (150/17) on a 89 gsxr 750 rim (4.5).
No clearence issues at all.
I have run a 150 on the stock rear rim (Pirelli super corsa) in the past.
It work well, but the 4.5" rim is the perfect setup.

I don't have any experience with the Bridgestone BT090, but I'm sure they work great too. And cheaper

Seems Dunlop likes a wider 4.5" rim like Bob is using for the 150/60 D208, here's the dimensions for the Dunlop racing tires:

The info for the BT090 tires is not on the regular Bridgestone mc tire site, but rim width and tire dims can be found on the Bridgestone Japan site:

Our 3.5" rear rim is the recommended width for the 140 wide BT090.

All this is for your reference, Bob and some others here have the experience with the racing tires.

When fitting a tire on a rim narrower or wider than the tire mfg measuring rim width, a 1/2" change in rim width will result in approx a 5mm or .2" change in tire width.
