HELP! BIG Problem with NEW GS500F..why ohh why :(

Just got a NEW GS500F..I bought it from CA with 53 miles.Had it shipped to NJ. I played around with it in the winter time for about 1hour ( made 20 miles) and it was ok. BUT now when it got wormer I played around with it ,made another 20 miles and , when the engine gets realy HOT it deaies on me . I pull the throthle all the way up, let go off it, and it shuts down.The only way I can hold it ON is when I have it manualy on about 4000 RPM. When I let go lower the that it gets dead. And then I cant start it, till its gets cold again. Whats the problem, is the engine basted .. now the bike has 85 miles on it. I do not have waranty.PLS help , any suggestions will be helpfull.

Should the bike still be under factory warranty?

Warranty should transfer, even if you are second owner, right?  Else raise a ruckus with your local Suzuki dealer and go up the chain of command until you get the desired fix.

Yes, warranty is transferrable.

This bike was bought on a dealers auction from CA as an affter acident bike.
The waranty is vided in the case.There was notiing wrong with it, besides a cracked fairing wich I fixed anyway. BUT now Im having this problem .
COLD-OK , HOT - it gets dead , when realy realy hot I cant start it at all, till it gets a little bit cooler. Whats the problem??Did anyone had this problem before???

Bad when hot, fine when cold = Rich mix. However ... could also be electrical ... Ignition coil, or crank trigger.

Oil cooler?   New on the '04.
I'm assuming you've checked the oil level?

As Srinath stated rich, I thought that the choke may be all the way back all the time (on). Or, the choke cable is hanging up down by the carbs.

The bike hasn't even been broken-in, yet!

I think Scratch is right about the choke. Are you sure you're turning it off after it warms up for about a minute? I know the choke had me confused too then I realized you pushed it forward to turn it off. Remember it's usually something simple as that. Good luck.

Quastion, stupied but real - how do I check the oil level in the cooler, I dont see any check pt. , no valve , no refill. How do I refill the oil in the cooler at all??? Thanks, Kamil

Hi I had a very similar problem (Not with a GS I must add) I stripped the carbs, sorted the choke, checked fuel flow as it had all the syptoms of fuel problems. You got it, it wasn't. I read in a mag about changing the coil, I did so and bingo no more problem. Borrow a coil from some one and see what happens.

No checking the oil in the cooler, just on the dipstick on the right side of the engine
