Besides your gs what bike?

For years I have said I would never buy a bike with spoke wheels and tube type tires again, would never buy one w/o a ctr stand, would never buy one wrapped in plastic, and would never buy one with shim under bucket valve adjustment.  Nothing much left in this country of big noisy chrome plated cruisers and plastic wrapped sportbikes and where image reigns supreme and practacality means nothing.

Every winter I buy a couple issues of the Brit magazines and lament over their great choices of the types of bikes I like that we never see.  Think I should move to the UK and get that nice Honda 500cc twin or one of those naked Bandit 650s.

Just kidding about moving, but not about the choice of bikes available there compared to here.   :(

A lot of wisdom here Jack.  But what of the Yamaha FZ-6? Only a half-faring (really just supporting the windshield, headlights & protecting the clocks), center stand and tubless tires.  Does it fail the "shim under bucket valve adjustment" test?

Hey, what about a vacation to the U.K.  Pick up a bike still in the crate and have it shipped to your Ohio address.

Something tells me it's not that easy or I would have heard of someone would already be doing this kind of thing.  All I hear are the groans of North Americans who lament over the inability to get bikes like the Honda Pan European, the CBF500 & 600 Hornet, and the Transalp and Varadero.

I could go on, but I am also confused as to why bikes available Europe aren't available here.  Anybody know the answer?

PS. That's one "long" URL you listed for the CBF500.
