my hopes of a new SV were dashed when my :guns:  insurance company told me my yearly premium would be MORE THAN $3000!!!!!!!!!!

i knew it would be high, but this high?  i'm 22 so that jacks it up, but i have a spotless driving record and never any claims....

.....you may want to price other ins. agencies.....my SV costs $500 yr.....I'm 27 and married w/ 1 ticket on my record.....but my ins. has been the same since 2003 (when I bought the bike)

remember - every ins company rates bikes differently.....some companies will rate the SV high (I just checked GEICO - $5k yr for me!!!).....others will rate it lower (I currently have American Family).....MSF discount will help....so will have renters (or homeowners ins)......

.....don't stop looking just cause you hit one little stumbling block.....additionally.....I'd recommend staying away from the big name companies....Progressive, Geico, USAA.....for some reason they always rate high....

.....lastly, you're paying alot for the GS.....I was paying in the neighborhood of $200 yr when I bought mine (24 yr old, not married, full coverage, etc.).....you might just want to price around period!!!!

I was paying a whole lot less until last year, like less than half of what it is now.  but they say "oh don't worry, everyone's rates went up", yeah that makes me feel better :nana: haha.   Thanks for the advice, i'll keep fighting the good fight and do some looking around.

You usually get a better deal on the insurance when you have your auto/home/life, or anything else with the same company...

FETTCOLS = insurance agent (sells high risk auto)

Defintetely good advice, will follow up on that with my auto insurance, though last time they gave me a crappy quote.  They arerevamping my policy though as I'm turning 25 in a few months
