Tell that to the left turner when you're cruising at 40mph.  :?

A few years ago, I was cruising at a local beach area when a Diablo pulled up to me and started revving it's engine like mad. The light went green, and I left him in the dirt.

When he caught up to me, he asked me about my bike. I said 37rwhp, 27ft/lbs torque for just under $5 CDN. He was astonished    :)

Bwa-hwahahahah !!

Quote from: conflicttheoristI don't think the advancer did anything HP wise.  What I think it did was make the throttle more responsive.  It revs a lot quicker and there is less delay between the turn of the wrist and the response you want.
As far as actual speed, let's jsut say a friend of a friend told me that the bike pulls very torquily all the way through 5th gear at 11k rpms, where my friend says the speedo showed 105mph.  My friend said that he or she then shifted to 6th, but then got scared and decided that being able to accellerate beyond that was pointless.  Sometimes I worry about him or her, but he'll be okay.

the ignition advancer is like advancing the timing right? is this the same thing? if this is the same thing as advancing the timing on a car (theoreticaly speeking) then you would gain more top end at higher RPMS and losing a little bit of torque. if it is advanced properly you should feel more pull at the higher RPMS, kinda more like a kick in.

also when you advance a cars timing you somtimes may have to run premium fuel. Im still learning about these motorcycle motors so correct me if im way off.

The GS advancer basically improves the performance from idle to ~4K rpm ... over that nohtign ...

so this little device has nothing to do with the timing of the bike? is it kinda like a MSD box?
