Convince me to buy a PSP..

common do it, I want one really freakin bad but over 300 bucks for one and the two games I want. It would be goin on my credit card so i can build credit (i buy something, carry a balance for 3 months then pay it off). I can buy it, and have it paid off in 3 months, but I need to save for a new bike. Course with my arm i cant do much but sit around anyways...

games i want are twisted metal, and atv...get to convincin.

I have heard the theory of needing to keep a balance on the credit card to build credit, but I think it is crap. I always paid it off and I have great credit.

As for buying the psp you should do what makes you happy. If you got the money and don't have anything better to spend it on, then go for it.

Instead of that, why not a couple of good novels or some good technical books and chuck the rest into the new bike fund? You won't see me convincing somebody to get the newest and neatest hand-held finger-strokin' gadgets anyway...I got fed up with the techno-stuff years ago :lol: . Happy huntin' on your decision and hope you heal up well...I needed skin-grafts on my last time down. Love the Baby GS and this wonderful forum.

I keep hearing the psp has got a weak battery... but I don't know, I've never seen one... just heard rumers.

If you leave WiFi off and turn brightness down you can squeeze 7 hours outa them.

Frankly, Sony consoles have the lowest build quality of everything. I'd wait a few weeks till they stop bundling the value pack, and hear if they break really easily. They ship with dead pixels currently, the drives are a big ?. Ps2's break down after 2 years almost reguardless.

I work at a videogame store and I love sony games, I'm jsut weary about the hardware.

Sony is warrantying(sp) all with dead pixles so thats not a problem.

If you're a gamer, you need a PSP. It's that simple. Don't worry about all of the criticism it's gotten for the movie, music, and other crap features. It's a gaming system first and well worth the price of admission. Go get it now!

Sony isn't warenteeing dead pixels. If you read the manual that comes with it it says its normal wear.

I didn't buy it. I work at one of the stores in it (gamestop) so I know whats up. I will after I wait a few months to make sure the thing isnt a POS.

I work for the company who creates the credit scores (aka FICO scores). If you want to learn how to build credit go to www.myfico.com (no flames please I am not trying to sell anything). Check out the FREE Personal Credit Tools section that talks about paying off credit cards.

That's actually a pretty good website, Levo. I've been using them for a few months.

That PSP sure is tempting, especially right now as it's the slow season at work... lots of time to be bored. I may have to go over to EB games and have a look at one.

I do plan on getting a PSP at some point... but just like the PS2 (and iPods and other stuff) often the same item will go through several generations of slight changes. Once a better battery comes out, Sony will put one in. The PS2 used to have separate graphics and I/O-PSX chips, but eventually everything was combined on one chip. Or something like that.

I'd give Sony a few months to put out an updated version with either lower energy consumption or a new battery. And one that fixes whatever engineering issues the first batch has.
