How to remove choke cable?

I'm having difficulty removing the choke cable from the carb. Please help a mechanical retard.

make sure the lever is all the way off first, hold spring and with needle noze pliers wiggle cable out of holder

which lever? The one on the handlebar? I never thought of loosening that. I'll try it- thanks!

The cable is held by a pin-looking thing. Do I just pull it out? How would I put it back in the pin?

I'm a dumbarse; my brother figured it out.

you have to rotate the cable to get the pin end out, you'll see a slot cut out on the top of one side, this is where the cable will go through. Just did mine today, i have an 04 but imagine it would be the same. I had to rotate it up at the pin end and it slides right out, no problem.
