i took apart my forks today so i could replace the seals change the springs and oil. it looks like the seals have been in there since the beginning of time. the damn things won't come out.  :x I tried prying them and pulling the tube in and out, but they won't budge. It's as if the things are super glued in there and yes i took off the oil retainer rings already. please help. is there any easy way to get those little buggers out.  :dunno: thanx.

Once you get that clip out you should be able to just use the leg as a slide hammer and pound them out.

i pounded on that thing forever. its driving me crazy. any other way of getting them out.

Maybe take a screwdriver and pry on the outer edges and see if you can break the seal it has bonded with the lower leg, just be careful and not wreck the fork legs.  What kind of seals are you putting back in, I would not reccomend Leak Proof seals, put them on my bike and both sides are already leaking.

still dont see where you pulled the retaining spring just under the dustboot. it can get nasty enough under the dustboot that its hard to see, but its there, otherwise you would have known about it REALLY rudely

i just wanted to thank everyone for their input.  :thumb: I got them out this morning. I ended up banging a flat bladed screwdriver right into the the old seal, then prying it up. Got them both out with no problems this time. Damn those things were disgusting.
