didn't think another person was doing this conversion. I am also putting a 600rr tail on my '94 gs.  I'm using a 03-04 tail section with the light that it came with. I plan on attaching the gs seat plastic on the bottom of the tail, then make a new cushion for the seat.  I'm gonna bolt the tail to the gas tank and it will be like a hinge. so when I go to unlock the seat like would normally do, the whole tail section will swing up just like a car trunk.

my pics didn't show for some reason here is the link:

I wish the original poster had an update on this project so I could compare mine to. But any how, here is the progress of my 600rr tail. Swing up seat did not work, it got caught up in the front seat area. The tail is attached to the original seat plastic and to the gas tank as shown in the pics. A 2005 cbr seat is attached to the original seat plastic with screws. so taking the two bolts off the gas tank and unlocking the original seat allows me to remove the tail and seat as a whole. No mods were made to any part of the frame to fit the tail. all that was needed was to trim a lil edge off the right side of the tail to clear the heatsink thingy. Now I need to get the thing painted.
