Ok so i got pulled over today, For LANE SPLITTING the cop said.
well heres the deal. we have this thing called shitty roads with peoples shitty cars. they spill oil over the middle of a road. so at a stop light I pulled to the side of a car so I wouldnt run over the oily mucky ground. and there was po po to pull me over.  I told him the reason and he said I was lieing. so im like whatever buddy. you can call me a lier and give me a ticket but atleast im alive. so I dont have a motorcycles license either and havent for the past year, just never got one. (yes i know this is my fault) well he let me off and said i had to have someone pick up my bike in a truck and that he would be watching me. whatever. I waited 10 minutes and went down the back roads.. peaced out to the city limits , cause county cops have no authority there. got home and put my bike in the back. im going to DMV to take the test.

cheesy

you're an idiot for not having a motorcycles license.. and running home w/ your tail between your legs after the cop giving you a break.

no wonder we garner these stereotypes.

its breaking the law just like speeding is.  I just said that i know it was my fault I havnt gotten my license yet. And no I am not running with my tail between my legs. there was no reason for the cop to pull me over. the bike is registared and has all proper tags. And I didnt get a ticket. That I am thankfull for. I beleiver tehre are about 30 some people I know without a M on there license that ride bikes.not saying its right. but we all have done stupid things. so watch your words. Im stil a damn good rider and safe , license or no license. and my last statement was im going to the DMV now to take my test.

Interesting.   Jah, you can get a permit by taking the written test and when you complete the MSF you'll get your license by presenting the certificate of completion at the DMV with your permit.  You are taking MSF, right?

As an aside, I am fixing a ticket for a guy that rides a 'Busa.  He got a ticket for "Illegal Lane Change" while riding it one day in a pretty red neck county outside the metro area of Kansas City.

Anyway, his "Illegal Lane Change" was on a two lane black top.  He merely moved from the outer third of his lane to the inner third and the cop gave him a ticket for illegal lane change.

Does this sound right to any of you????

Passing the MSF course should be enough for any state. A motorcycle endorsement is a bull$hit way for the DMV to make a little extra money. Like they really needed to issue me a new licence, come on. When you renew by mail in Louisiana they mail you a sticker for the back of your licence, they could easily do the same.

I dont get it? You were right on side of the car in front of you?

Granted he was foolish for not getting his license  and well deserved of a ticket for such.  As to lane spliting , If you didnt cross over the line or PASS the car in the lane i would fight it and let the judge decide. i find it unprofessional he called you a lier.

Now as to running home, You did right as he could have taken and impounded your bike for you and racked up alot of cash. then because you dont have a license your parents would be the only ones to be able to get it out for you.  Get a ride to the DMV and take the written test, it will give you a temp permit to drive, no passengers. take the MSF and pass it before you go to court or atleast have the recipt showing your paid and enrolled in it if the course is after court. if the judge sees your crackin ass to fix everything he/she might be forgiving and just hit you with court fee's and nothing heavyer

now as to this

Bit on the rude side cheesy, Oh unless you were there, but then, you would be telling your wittnessed side of this tail and correcting his embelishments wouldnt you?  now if you werent there, then you dont know the whole aspect, he could have been a complete asshat doing 80mph standups in a school zone or rolling endos at stopsigns.  OR he could have had a cop who was having a bad day and wanted to feel carbon copies ruffling.  Only 2 people know for sure, and we are only hearing one side.   Dial it down just a tad dude. if someone pops up saying i got busted doing wheelies down the interstate and told the cops sod off,  then i will help bring in the buckets of stones to toss at him

cant speek for other states, but here in fla it use to be the MSF wasnt required.  but now once over 21 you dont need to take it just written and skills and its 5$ for the endorsment.  the endorsement was around long before the MSF requirement and hasnt changed in price that i know of

It can be tough to avoid the oil on the road, but still protect your lane.  If you are in line at a stoplight, and move too far to the right to get away from the oil, then the car behind you may think "oh, he's like a bicycle." and pull into the spot to your left, sharing the lane with you.

9 times out of ten, I'll move to the left to avoid the oil, and hug the centerline.  The car behind is less likely to try to share your lane.

This works when riding too: I'm less likely to get passed within my own lane if I'm in the left third of the lane.
You cannot escape our master plan!

Susuki_Jah

the lanes are wierd. there are two turning lanes to turn left. then two middle lanes then one right turning lane. I moved to the right of the center lane. which means out of the two middle lanes I was on the left lane and moved towards the center line. so I wouldnt ride up the cars ass, I moved to the corner of the car and to the right so he would see me in his rear view. the cop thought I was trying to ride down the center of the two lanes and said I was trying to lane split. He didnt actually write me a ticket because I didnt actually lane split and thats what I was irritated about. the roads suck here and I was trying to avoid the crap on the road but instead I got pulled over. I usually always ride the speed limit but a few times here and there. Ive never done a wheelie so I cant say that I do wheelies , the only time ive done a burn out is when its been in my neighborhood showing off for my friends. I dont ride jumpy or stupid. and I dont ride cars asses.

in VA you have to take a written course then get a 30 day temporary permit then come back for the riding course.   THis was not feesable at a earlier time because of other DMV reasons.  (for me)

and yes I could have not ridden my bike untill now which would have been about a year. but then I would have missed all the most beautiful things about riding a bike. it was a concsious decision i made , fully aware of the concequinces... but thats not what i was irrited about.

BTW i do have a vehicle license. but no friends with trucks to get my bike. thats why I road it home to get my vehicle and drive to the DMV.
