I thought I read somewhere that certain years of a Yamaha R6 exhaust are the same size as a GS ( 1 3/4" ).  Can anyone confirm this?  I've got my eye on a 96 R6 slipon...

96 had no R6 ... first year of R6 is 99 ...
Cool.

Maybe it was a 96 YZF then...

I just checked, its a 99 R6, not a 96...  the guy selling it says the inlet diameter is 1 3/4" - you think thats accurate??

The Buddha

Post a pic if possible, now inlet isn't all that counts ... BTW GS OD of pipe is like 1 and 7/8th ... you need 1 and 7/8 id to slide over ... 1 3/4 is the ID ... but for a fit you need 1 and 7/8 th ... The location you have to fit it is determined by the bends in it ... wrong bends and the pipe will be waaaay off to the side etc ... Post a pic ...
Cool.

Honestly ... for that can to fit right ... you need to make your own mid pipe ... inlet size makes no diff ... its not going to fit the stock GS header pipe and point in the right direction and location and clear everyhting ...
Cool.
