Adding length to centerstand and kickstand

Just got my new tires on the bike and was surprised that the back tire is now on the ground when the bike is on the centerstand.  I'm running a Avon AV45 ST 110/80ZR-17 on the front, and a AV46 ST 140/80ZR-17 on the rear.  

Between the tires (new) and the Kat 600 shock (last year), I think I'm added like 3 inches to the seat height.  I'm 6' 6", so ergo wise, it's better, but the centerstand won't get the back tire off the ground, and the kickstand holds the bike at a precarious angle.

I may need to find some shop that can add 3/4 of an inch to my centerstand and like 2" to my kickstand.  Will adding length cause either stand to have problems when they're up?  Will they go up?  Will the stock springs keep them up?

i just saw an adjustable chrome kickstand for a mere $160 earlier today.

instead of altering the centerstand (which will need to change again if you change tire sizes, or go with another brand in same size), try simply using a peice of plywood under the centerstand when you need to use it.

I'm using the same avon tires and mine sits on the side and the center stand much better than it did in the stock form.  I'm still using the stock shock... thats the difference in your case...

I'm with Pablo on this one, buy a used side stand and lengthen it, because you want to keep the stock one for the next tire or shock swap.

cheap simple fixes....
since you will mostly use the center stand at home.... a chunk of 2 x 6 or 2 x 8 laying on the shop floor will work nicely

a small scrap 2 x 4 in the tankl bag for the side stand


been doing this for years

if ya lengthen them....they will easier to drag when leaned over...and this is a bad thing

I used a piece of scrap 1x4 under the centerstand and it worked great.  My biggest problem will be parking while away from home, but I guess I can get a 4" square piece of 1x4 and carry it with me for under the sidestand.

One last thing to make my bike look even more ratty

that will also keep your sidestand form sinking into asphalt on hot days
