TOMIMOTO

It's long sorry, but I am so excited.

Well hey guys as you all know I've been looking at trading in my GS. Well I went to the Honda/Suzuki dealer today and they ofered me the same $4,000.00 dollar trade in price. That was a good start. Then we were talking the price of the bike. I want an all black 600RR. They first said the final price of the bike was $9,644.00. I said, "nah thats way too high. Can you do anything on the price?" The guy said, "what do you want to pay?" I said "8-5/6." So he walked over to the manager. The manager called me over and said, "yah we can do that." Now this is for an 05 CBR 600RR. The MSRP on this bike is 8,999.00. So I'm getting a trade in price of $4,000.00 for my bike and I'm getting the bike for $8,600.00. That's already 400 below the MSRP.

Also while I was in the dealer there was a group of people standing around my GS. I was like, "what is going on here!!?? Are they trying to sell my bike on me??" hehe Well I walked out wondering what was going on. Well the manager was outside and he said, "we need to find out who owns this bike." I go, "that blue one? (and point)" He goes yah. I reply with a, "yah, that's mine."  Well this guy was shopping with his girlfriend for a step up from her scooter she rides. She ended up sitting on the GS. (man that chick was damn hot, I felt proud to let her mount my little GS, haha) Well she really liked the seating position and she even flat footed it with sandals on. After that I walked into the dealer and the sales person walked away from me for a minute. The hott chicks boyfriend walks up behind me and hands me his girlfriends card. He says, "hey what do you want for the bike?" I say,"4-5." So he goes, " OK well see what they will give you for a trade in than call my girlfriend tomorrow." So tomorrow I'm going to call his girlfriend and see if she wants to pay $4,500.00 for my bike. If she does that would be sweet.

Here's the math.

If that guy's hott girlfriend (Meghan) buys my bike for $4,500.00:

GS: $4.500.00
Cash I have: $2,000.00
Price of bike: $8,600.00
Total bike financing price: $2,100.00

Now I can pay off $2,100.00 dollars in a month and a half. I am so psyched. If the girl doesn't pull through and I do the trade-in though here are the numbers.

GS: $4.000.00
Cash I have: $2,000.00
Price of bike: $8,600.00
Total bike financing price: $2,600.00

I can pay off $3,000.00 in 2 months. Man it's pretty sweet either way.

Well I might end up being the new proud owner of a 2005 Honda CBR600RR tomorrow. I kind of already miss the GS though even though it's not exactly what I want. I was just riding on this absolutley gorgeous day and was totally enjoying it. Oh well if I chose to do so I'll buy another used 04 down the road. It's only metal and rubber. I need to stop myself from getting too mentally attached to my things. My family are natural pack rats and don't get rid of anything so it's really hard.

Here's a pic of the bike I might get. I'll definately have it sometime this week and I will absolutely take pics. Oh yah did I mention that the CBR won the Sportrider shootout this year?

PS. What does OTD mean?

Not trying to knock you off your cloud, but is the honda still gonna be the same price if you don't have a trade in, if so then thats sweet. My experience has been that the price was only with a trade in.   if the price of the bike will stay the same, you should let the chick have it for whatever they offered you on trade in.  Then get her to join the group an post pics of here on her new ride.

Hehe. Yah the price stays the same without the trade-in. I think she is going to buy the bike either way from me or buy it off of the dealer. They didn't have any GS500F's in stock. I will certainly mention this site to her. She works behind a desk I think so she must have a lot of free internet time.

Accelerate like your being chased, Corner like you mean it, Brake as if you life depends on it.
Ride Hard...or go home.

Its you Vs the pavement.....who wins today?

TOMIMOTO

Nice so it's $8,600.00 OTD. That's what the guy wrote on the card.

yea, otd is 'out the door'...when shopping for a bike or a car for that matter, always deal for the out the door price so you don't pay a penny more than that. otherwise, who knows what else they would try to tack on...
My hunch was right...Pandy is the biggest Post Whore!

TOMIMOTO

So does this seem like a good deal guys? Just need to backup on my decision.

Yeah, if they will sell you the CBR with out-the-door at 500 below MSRP, that's OK.  And 4500 on the GS sounds good too.  Keep that card (with the OTD quote on it), in case they "forgot" to add a few charges into the price.  OTD means what it says: out-the-door with no other charges.
You cannot escape our master plan!

TOMIMOTO

Yah I still have the card. It says OTD.

I'm going to call the chick tomorrow and if she can't pay me cash within 2 days I'm just going to go pick up the CBR. Hopefully I'll have a nice new shiny CBR tomorrow. YAY!!

It seems kind of fishy though that they dropped it from $9.644.00 OTD to $8,600.00 OTD. That's about $1,000 less. They must really want my bike. They said they didn't have any in stock so they must be selling well.

Hehe. I will. Be ready for a ish load of pics sometime soon.  :thumb:

I think I'm still going to be sad to let the GS go. It was my first bike and I payed for it fully by myself in 5 and a half months. Me and my dad also worked on it together. I think I have a sense of letting down/dissapointing my dad by selling it because he really liked working on it because it was simple like his old dirtbikes. I think he'll have a harder time working on the CBR. My dad said we'll work on this one together too though. Also those memories will still be there just not the bike. I get too attached to things and the memories invovled with them. That's why I can never let things go. Oh well, I'm sure once I hop on the CBR it won't bother me as much when I'm grinning ear to ear.

I think I'm going to have to put duct tape on my jacket though. My jacket has a big "SUZUKI" on both sleeves. Or I'll just wear a Suzuki jacket on my Honda and if anyone asks I'll just say it's for a memory of my first bike.

Nah just kidding. I love you all and I'm not going to leave here. I don't know what CBR message boards are like but if there anything like the civic forums I won't waste my time.

Thats a really nice bike, my local Honda dealer has one that I was looking at, exact same everything as you will be getting.  I really like the rear end of those bikes, swing arm and tail exhaust especially.

pantablo

out the door, without any additional fee's (they might spring something on you last minute-happened to me at the first dealer I went to) is a good deal. Better still below MSRP out the door. they're also counting on you financing more than you actually are-they make loads of profit from the Honda financing.

You wont look back. the gs is only a faint, quaint memory now for me. Going to my 4th trackday tomorrow. I absolutely LOVE my 600rr.

I was waiting for you to ring in Pantablo. Yah my dad thinks they'll do something screwy with us. They have before at this particular dealer. Even if my interest is really high or something I'm not planning on paying most of it. The rest of the money will get paid off in about 2 months. That would cut out most of the interest.
