a Monster S2R at a local dealer mesmerized me

The problem is it's a step down power wise from my current ride  :o

I could get an SV1000 for the same price, but can you beat the track suspension, gumball tire and slipper clutch of the S2R?

I'm sure I'm driving my dealer crazy, I'm ready to make a purchase but I can't decide at all haha.

I have an S2R and I love it. I'm not sure that it has track suspension though. A very experienced rider was on mine and thought the suspension was soft, though nicely balanced between the front and rear. But it isn't really adjustable. The forks aren't adjustable at all. The suspension seems fine to me, but I'm not very experienced, and I only weigh 135 pounds.  :dunno:  It's a fun bike though. In addition to the slipper clutch, the rims are pretty nice, if you are into that sort of thing. I get a lot of compliments on it, and not just "That looks sweet". People who really know bikes are always like "Those are really fun bikes!" What kind of riding do you do? And do you ride with a lot of people on liter bikes? If you are into top end speed, you probably won't be happy with the S2R. If you are into more technical riding, I think you'd probably like it a lot.

I love the great HD but, so many people have nothing but praise for their Ducatis (not to mention the panache') that I would definitely give one the hard long look. Jake D for President 2008. Love the little bike, Alaska (it's too cold there Bebe), and this forum.

I'm quite into technical riding, do alot of dirtbike trailblazing through rivers and over fallen trees, and my street biking I go to mountain gaps every weekend (being in vermont I have roughly 5 mountain passes in an hours ride) I picked up the track suspension from a few self submitted reviews(not professional) I'm only 140 myself so it might be a good fit. I'm gonna go take a look at it again  :)

Most Ducati dealerships offer test rides. That's what sold me!

Not this one  :?  They are the only Ducati, Triumph, BMW dealership in VT. They're dicks, but they can afford to be because they're the only ones.

After much debate between a monster and SV650S I went with SV.  I loved the monster though, I probably get one eventually just for the soul of it.
