You won't know what size you need until you get in there and measure yours. Find the one that is out of spec, take out the shim, and the size of it is on the backside, or measure with a caliper. Then you will know what new size shim to buy.

Ride her Hard, but respect her or she will dump you.
Yellow F(now All Black F), Srinath's SM Knock Off Bars, Avon AM51/52, Wileyco, Jetted, UNI, Katana Shock, 14T, GSXR Mirrors, Front and Rear signals, Federectomy, CBR Footpegs, Progressives and CBR solo tail coming soon.

From what I have learned is that you need to measure first. Then you can determine if you need to buy a shim that is bigger or smaller then what you have in there now. So measure twice and buy once. Check the min and max dimensions allowed. Your manual should cover that.

QuoteHey Blue yea I have the K&N But I might be buying a stage 1 jet kit soon. Will also mount that exhaust I bought from EBAY

if this is what your doing then you need to flat out rejet to stage 3
now. something to the tune of 140 mains or so.

i just rejeted to stock needles and havent had chance to go play bit it takes like 6 turns out with 40 pilots and like 4.5 turns out with the 37.5 pilots. running 140 mains right now with 1 washer under the needle. once i have a chance to play ill know if i need to go up or not.
i also seem to have been running 2 diffrent slides, probly GSXR and GS(yes there are differneces) so i matched the slides up jetting seems alittle weak right now but we'll see.

looks like i also need some Intake boots as all my spares are rotted and cracked. i modified one GS450 boot but its still differnt.
Accelerate like your being chased, Corner like you mean it, Brake as if you life depends on it.
Ride Hard...or go home.

Its you Vs the pavement.....who wins today?

I don't think anyone would know off hand, cause it all depends on the measurements you take. I will be + or - a size. But you can only determine by the feeler gauge. Let me know how it goes.

k, one more question... is it better to get the special tool to remove the shims or to remove the camshaft supports?
LIFE should NOT be a journey to the GRAVE with the intention of arriving SAFELY in an attractive and well PRESERVED body, but rather to SKID in sideways, CIGAR in one hand, favorite beverage in the other, body thoroughly USED UP, totally WORN OUT, and screaming WOW - WHAT A RIDE!

Altruism111

Well it appears you can do it both ways. I haven't tried it yet. Check this out if you don't have the tool.
