Picked up my new bike today!!!!

....actually...thanx to freecycle I now have a brand-spankin-new-to-me bicycle!!....which is good cause I've got a "spare tire" I need to lose....



so far.....flat tires....take em apart tomorrow....might need new tubes....might not....missing the front brake line.....seat is pretty crappy....gotta check out the chain and sprockets in daylight....gotta wash it good too.....covered in dirt....I figure less then $50 in parts and I'll have a fun little bike....which will be sweet for when I move in 3 weeks....

Progressive springs for sure and a set of Srinath bars......
You will hear no bitchin about needing the fender mod though.

With the price of gas going up all the time I'll bet that baby gets some really sweet gas milage.

got most of the muck and dirt off today.....cleaned the chain....1 tire is still good.....the other needs a new tube....somebody didn't know what they were doing and messed up the valve stem somethin fierce....add that to the list....


so:

needs a tube
front brake line
new seat

once I get that stuff done, I'll start checking out the gear changer....looks to be in good condition as are the sprockets.....

....yeah gas prices are goin up....this will help for close to home stuff.....but I'll be able to scoot over to my folks place (about 6 miles) and my grand-parents (about 1.5 miles) pretty easily.....and I'll be able to go off road to get there which is perfect for getting to my dad's house.....I had contemplated pickin up a cheap dirtbike for the trek....but this is better....it'll help shave off some un-needed poundage.....
