"Well I just installed a new tree magnet on my SV . . . . shoot dang - it works great!!!"

Hope the guy's okay.  That's a great lesson on why the MSF course is a good idea.

Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

That was a really sad sight. The guy only wanted to get started riding and look what happened starting out.

hmmm, lets see here.  Obviously inexperienced rider+powerful bike+no helmet, jacket, gloves or just about any protective gear whatsoever=recipe for disaster. I understand people feeling bad for him for just trying to learn and all, but really, that was just stupid. It's like, "hey, I've never riden a motorcycle before, lets try it in the street with no protective gear. That would be totally excellent, man." I guess my point is you could see that coming a mile away.

Personally when he started out I halfway expected a car to slam him from behind or something like that...but I guess the tree was a better option.  I did something simlar on a 4 wheeler the first time I tried one of those (but I was also 7 years old and had no business on a 4 wheeler by myself).  Be fun and play safe everyone...
