My bike came yesterday!  It's an '04 GS500F with about 5200km on it.

This is my first bike.  I've had it out on the street a bit, but I'm saving the big rides for after the training course next weekend.

I've been spending a lot of time reading this forum.  I think it's great.

daneilah, congratulations and welcome!  The bike looks gorgeous.. almost as gorgeous as my blue 04F!  Only kidding  :)

I see you're from Waterloo!  I spent the better part of five years there, completing my second (and painfully difficult) degree -- Computer Engineering.  Any chance you're also a Waterloo grad?

Definitely wait until you've completed the course before you start to *really* ride your bike.

Beautiful in black. Enjoy and be safe. Welcome to the forum, I love it...and I love my little GS too.

Cool!  I did my first degree at U of T in '93.  However I quickly realized that a B.Sc in Human Biology wasn't going to help me get paid anytime soon, so I applied and accepted a position in the comp eng program, and graduated in '98.

Hopefully we'll get a bunch of KW/Toronto riders out in the summer.   Good luck with the course.

Welcome!

Bike looks great (love the reflection in the tank cutout, shiney; and for some reason I like the contrast of the swingarm over the sprocket)!
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

The course is the one offered at Conestoga College in Kitchener.  It's the usual 3 hours of classroom followed by 19 hours of practical including the M2 road test.

My wife and I are going together (she got a Kawasaki Vulcan 500).

It's great that you're wife has the itch for riding as well... she'll be more understanding when you start throwing $$ into more bikes :)

Let me know how the kitchener course goes, I have some buddies up in waterloo that are interested in taking the course.

Cheers
