Tank Water Drain

Is it necessary to route a hose from the tank water drain?  Or can you just leave it open?

The only thing I see wrong with not routing the drain is if you accidentally overfill the tank and gas runs over the hot engine. I had mine unhooked but redid it after all the other work.

Oh yes, could be an instant flame-thrower. The Baby G is hot but we don't want it that hot. Love the little thing...this forum also.
