no, it stays in the outbox till the recipient receives it. if the pm stays in the outbox, that means the recipient's inbox is full.

I think the truth is actually in the middle.

The PMs you send stay in your Outbox until the addressee goes to their Inbox.  As soon as your PM is displayed in their Inbox list, it is moved from your Outbox to your Sentbox.

Even if the system DID wait until your PM was opened, there would be no way to guarantee that the message was actually read.  :mrgreen:

isn't that what i siad? or am i missing something. once you hit submit, it'll go to your outbox. if the message is deliverable, it'll show up in their inbox and your sentbox, instanteously.

no it shows up in your outbox only.  that is until they go into their inbox.  then it goes into your sentbox only.

For example, I have a message to cernunos that has beden sitting in my Outbox since 07 March.  Apparently he never clicks on the link at the top of every GStwin page, right between "Memberlist" and "Log out [ cernunos ]".

If he ever does (hint hint), that message will appear in his Inbox and will also move from my Outbox to my Sentbox.

Unfortunately, by then he will have no idea what I was writing about.  :lol:

Note to cernunos:  If you HAVE gone to your Inbox since 07 March but have not opened my PM, then my understanding of how the whole thing works has been incorrect after all.
