GS500F Handlebars

I have to GS500F, 2004, and I am interested in lowering the handlebars so they have more of a traditional sportbike, aggressive handlebar look.  Do any of you know if they make "clip-ons" for the GS500F or how I would go about doing that?  I have heard of someone putting on the SV650 bars, but I don't know how, and I want to tell my fiance how to do it for me, or at least give him some ideas.

basically you have a couple options.

srinath makes a replacement bar for the 04 that gives a MUCH better look and feel than stock.  You literally unbolt your bar and bolt the new one on.

He also used to (still may?) make clip ons.  I'd prefer the replacement bar though myself.

You can also try and find an 89 triple.  This, IMO is the best option, but usually pricey and a little more difficult to fit.

yeah sriny makes clipons but i swapped his clipons for his 4 weld bar, will look much better

your other option is what i plan to do

sell my 04 front end and buy a gsxr frontend =O

then i can have real clipons!!!

I am out of all bars ... watch this space ... as soon as flanges get done bars are next. 2 and 4 weld ... 4 weld type with 2 weld is my goal ... lemme see ... And read the notice at the top about srinath bar.

Don't bother trying the '89 GS clipon's on your '04... They're too close to the tank...

unless you get srinath to make you custom bars that have a slight outward bend. (like I did..)
