so out of sheer boredom i replaced my plugs tonite. first time since i bought the bike back in sept.  wow what a difference it made!  ok not that huge, maybe partially in my head but it felt smoother and more responsive.  so to all those who havent changed their plugs, at least check em!

i ended up getting Champion Power sports plugs.  it was the only thing available.  i know champion isnt the greatest but does anyone have anything bad to say about them?

I like 'em, they last a long time. I checked mine today and saw a shade of red coating them. Guess I need to de-rust the tank again  :x

I thought Champion only made plugs for lawnmowers.
Common sense in not very common.

I replaced mine at the start of this season after 36,000 km and 14 years. The old ones were actually in pretty good shape.
But I do notice the bike running smoother and I estimate my mileage has improved around 10%.
A worthwhile, easy and cheap maintenance to perform...at least more often than every 14 years

will the iridium NGK produce a cleaner burst and give move power?

Well, the GS's sound has been compared to a pissed off lawnmower...

I got iridium plugs, and then my bike didn't run very well. I took them out, and put my old ones back in.

I might have set the gap wrong, so I'm going to try again becuase I don't want to waste the $15 or so I paid for them.

Just stick with the regular NGK plugs. I imagine thats what I'm going to end up with.

I'm gonna look into the new Bosch Platinum +4 plugs. They have 4 spark contact points for "improved ignition of the fuel."
