I'm in the wrong Minneapolis

I installed Tiger last night.  It added a "weather widget", which is claiming that it is 73F and sunny in Minneapolis.  I look out the window: it's 35F and pouring rain.  Inspection of the computer settings shows that it thinks I'm in Minneapolis, NC, where it is, indeed 73F and sunny.  Dang, I'm in the wrong Minneapolis!
You cannot escape our master plan!

can't blame 'em for trying though. They'll continue to innovate, unlike some other company who'll remain nameless.....
Be sure to post how you like it in a couple of weeks, i might become an early adopter to your pioneer.

Back when I lived up in St. Cloud, MN, I'd always get that too, search for weather, and it'd show the current conditions in St. Cloud, FL.

Man that was annoying.  Then I moved to Cali, and I don't think there will ever be another town called Visalia.

I like going to the airport terminal there and using the vertical escalators...they get you down the terminal at running pace, provided you actually walk on them. If you really start hustling, you'll fall over when you get off    It's the little things in life.
I'd hate to be that pilot. Even though it wasn't his fault, he's probably really stressed. Make a mistake, and you could possibly kill someone.  Woops. Almost not worth the $103,587/yr.

I think you were looking for the thread about those airplanes colliding.

VERTICAL escalators? I'm getting pictures of people velcroed to a belt that runs up and down between floors.

They're just the toys of the slacker generation. I bet you had a digital watch, betamax, Mattel Electronics football, and a pocket calculator.

I don't even know what a betamax is. Never even saw a calculator until I was in college. My first computer after college was a C64. Mattel? They were pushing these little toy guns in the '50s and 60's to get us prepared I suppose. My sister got me my first digital watch for Christmas this past. Love the Baby GS, Uzbekistan (bit of a rebellion there at this writing), and this forum.

Quote from: cernunosI don't even know what a betamax is.

betamax is a type of video cassette that was the competitor to the VHS cassettes that became the standard for consumers.

It was a Sony product that came out first, but they kept betamax proprietary and refused to licence their technology to anyone else. JVC (I think, but someone correct me if I'm wrong) came out with the VHS standard, licenced it and because they weren't the only manufacturer, it was a lower cost standard and won the beta vs. VHS war.

Kinda like how Apple vs Microsoft in the mid to late 90s were. Apple had a better product but had its head too far up its ass to capitalize on it and now we have mostly Win32 based PCs.

Well, I started the night with a Rum&Coke. The only thing I suffered was gut-rot the next day
