I thought with a flux capacitor you couldn't get past 88 mph. At least not without a tiny side effect.

Quote from: ktrimas I stated in the orginal post the 240mph time slip was provided by the previous owner.  I have not seen it nor can I verify it.  all I now is that it is scary fast.  Under 40 mph it will not run!!  40-60 is ok but generally it will start to miss.  if you crack the throttle to smooth it out it will dump you on your ass.  1st to 2nd is violent to say the least.  it is impossible to keep the front end down.  2nd to 3rd is a little more tame but still scary.  thats as far as I have taken it.  (got scared).  he was talking about going to the salt flats to see just how fast it would go in a straight line.  dont know what has become of this plan last time I talked to him he was trying to find sand worthy tires??  (dont know anything about that)  I guess we'll see.  I will let you know wht happens if he does it.

buddy, multimillion dollar motoGP bikes dont even do 240mph and they have upwards of 240hp at the rear wheel. At 210mph, the rear wheel can be spinning 220-225mph on a straight chewing for traction. Now if you want to tell me your brother's bike, at 140hp, much heavier than a gp bike can do 240mph, you must be on crack.

140hp is nothing, stock R6s have been seen with 108hp, Gixxer 750s have been seen in the 140hp range being much lighter than a hawk. STOCK gixxer 1000's of this year range in the 165ish HP range at the rear wheel... NONE OF THESE BIKES HIT 240mph.

Start by listing the actual mods done to the bike and then post a slip of wherever it was "claimed" to have hit 240mph. Then proceed to call a few bike magazines, since they would be absolutely drooling over the opportunity to do a front page spot on a project race bike doing 240mph on the back straight at mid ohio. Not to mention makes it to 104mph in 100 yards.

  Dude, do yourself a favour and learn a bit about sportbikes before repeating something you heard.

Quote from: ktrimmy younger brother has a race prepped super hawk.  went riding with hi a few weeks,  on a long straight country road. I pulled away from a stop sign kinda quick and got the gs up to about 70,  little brother went bye me like I was standing still with the front wheel about a foot off the ground.  I caught up to him about a mie down the road,  He passed me at 104 mph and had just hit 2nd when the wheel came up.  he went from 0 to 104 in  about 100 yards.  he has a time slip from the previous owner of the bike,  it was clocked at 240mph in the back straight away at mid ohio.  The previous owner said that it was only in 5th gear, he ran out of room and had to slow down...   I rode the bike a couple of times,  all I can say is scary fast!!!!!

RIGHT?  :thumb:  Are you crazy? Maybe you are a bit confused?  We all would love to see this "time slip".

I'd believe 240 Kmh.  A superchicken just isn't that fast.  In fact I don't think a turbo busa will do 240.  Wind resistance becomes the big factor and it requires cubic power to push the wind out of the way.

I was just reading somewhere a few days ago about a guy who built a 'Busa and got it up to 243 mph. I believe they said the bike was putting out around 460 hp. And no, it was nowhere near stock...in cc or anything else. But it was very close to stock LOOKING. One thing the article was talking about was how it seemed the upper limit on a true production piston driven bike was around 190-195. Oh yeh, the 243 was set at somewhere like Bonneville or somewhere for a new record of some type. Love the Baby GS, Ohio (Cleveland rocks!), and this forum.

on my 600rr my first gear redlines at 78 mph (I've done it).

the owner of the record setting hayabusa hangs out at Bravo Burger bike nite in O.C.

I've had my 600rr at the track and even there its impossible to fully use the power of a literbike. Most tracks are too tight.

Turbo bikes, there is a turbo Busa on it that hit 140 on the back wheel.  Cool videos

I remember seeing a turbo gs in the photo section. Does anyone know who that is?
