I saw it last night at our local 'Drive-in'... It was great to avoid the opening night crowds, but I didn't get the full effect of surround sound.  So I think I'm gonna go back and see in again too, this time with better sound.

When I saw the first original Star Wars movie I was three-sheets-to-the-wind.

What does the phrase "three-sheets-to-the-wind" mean, anyways? For some reason I wanna think there's some celtic origin to it  :dunno:

If you're three-sheets-to-the-wind you are under full-sail and steamin' full spead ahead! Drunker'n a squirrel trying to hump a monkey. The phrase may be Celtic, I don't know...but when you're that lit there isn't much left. That was a long time ago, I don't even drink anymore. I think the last time I ever got anywhere near tipsy was around '80-'84...somewhere around there. Love the Baby GS, Oklahoma (there's a real neat play by that name...who wrote that?), and this forum.

on a sailboat, the ropes you use to control the sails are called sheets.

if your sheet is to the wind, it's come loose from the rigging and your sail is just flapping in the wind.

if you've got three sheets to the wind, your boat will probably behave quite erratically or at least be uncontrollable.

the romance part of the movie was painfully bad.  The light saber fights got kind of old after the first 10 minutes.

I was very impressed with the opening scene.

The concept art for the environments was gorgeous.

That anakin kid gets on my nerves...he looks like a pre pubescent mel gibson.

Natalie portman was awsome in Leon....she keeps getting uglier by the minute (ok...that's subjective) and she can't act.

I give this movie 3 thumgs up, for big explosions and CG
I give this movie 1 thumb up for acting and storyline.

There IS one rope on a boat.  It is the one that you use to ring the bell.  All the other bits of twine have special names, as you pointed out.
