I ALLWAYS SEE PEOPLE WITH MOTORCYCLES LOCK THERE HELMETS ON THERE BIKES WHEN THEY GO INTO A STORE, OR A BAR , OR WHERE EVER THERE GOING. I WANT TO DO THAT TOO, BUT MY 91 GS DOESNT HAVE A LOCK NEER THE SEAT. DOES EVERYONE ELSE HAVE A LOCK? CAN I PURCHASE ONE AND SCREW IT ONTO MY BIKE, OR CAN I BUY A FACTORY PART?

Have you a manual?  It nicely describes the helmet lock loops under the seat.  You can buy a cable to use with those, if you like.

And...

AND THE SHIFT KEY IS NOT GETTING TURNED OFF. I HAVE ALLREADY DISCUSSED THIS WITH OTHER PEOPLE. MY JOB REQUIRES ME TO USE CAPS LOCK. IF IM POSTING FROM HOME THEN I WILL USE LOWER CASE BUT FOR NOW IM USING UPPER CASE LETTERS.

But it's 1/8 second to turn it off for posting/email/nonjob stuff, and another 1/8 second to turn it back on for the job.   :dunno:   My job requires me to wear surgical gloves, but I take them off to post.

Just general I-net etiquette that makes a very big difference with very little effort.

under the seat, a hook on the left and the right... hook the d ring of your helmet on them... reinstall the seat and y ou are off
