I have no clue? on my instalation book it is not very exlpanatory, I got if off Ebay "Thor'" I dont know if its a good alarm or not, but the price was good enough for me, I just need to hook it up since I am moving into a non apartment garged area. But the guide only has pictures one with a non-battery ignition type and there is the battery. So I have no clue, I think its becuase it has a remote start. So I am guessing it would be battery since its not like a go-kart with a pullstring but correct me if I am wrong.

It is battery ignition.  That diagram link work for anyone? I'm looking for the same diagram but for the '03. I'm sure they're close to the same but that link doesn't seem to work.

safest way to test is with a multi-meter. if you don't know how to use one your an idiot and dont attempt self install.  just kidding about being an idiot.

WRONG YOU GUYS ARE ALL WRONG!!! I recently installed an remote starter/alarm system and the 05 GS500F is a non battery type ignition, my buddy who does wiring and my alarm system wouldn't work with a battery type ignition yet it works fine in my 05 gs500f!

It will not shut off...  I've tried something similar...  I've had my GS running without a battery.  Weak though..  but it still ran.

I forgot to mention...  You can paypal me that $100 to annguyen1981@yahoo.com

Also...  Am I crazy, or is having a remote starter on a bike a useless item?  It's not like a car where you can blast up the heater the night before and in the morning, five minutes before you leave for work, you can start her up from the comfort of your birthday suit...

I thought that was you that did it. But we're not talking running, don't know why rangerbrown brought it up. Go out to your bike, pull the negative terminal, and push the starter, without hooking it up to some other power source. I'd bet any amount of money (except that I don't bet) that the bike won't start. It's not a kick start, it's not a pull start, occasionally it's a bump-start. As for why you'd want one, I guess so you can get it idling, before you get out there to put your key in. But you better be darn sure that the bike is stable, and not in gear before you hit the start button. I had a remote start on my mustang, I absolutely loved it... Just cuz it was fun to start the car when someone stood next to it.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

I'm not sure why there's a big discussion on this. The instructions that come with your alarm will tell you everything you need to know about installation. If it's anything like my Scorpio SR-i300 alarm (and most of them install the same way this one does), then it'll be a 15 minute snap. :thumb:
