Got my GS a couple months ago and it is the greatest vehicle to use living in Chicago. I want to put an aftermarket exhaust on it and can get the V/H exhaust for $250. I read some other posts with what people have done. Just looking to hear some more ideas, or what's best for this bike. How does a Yosh slip-on work out?, what model? Thanks. Great forum and website.

im wondering the same thing.

and another thing whats better the slip on or a full exhaust? :icon_rolleyes:

V & H doesint make that exhaust anymore, and it doesint fit on the F because of the oil pan or something not exactly sure.

Alfafire knows exactly why the V&H won't work.  I think the bolts hit the oil cooler on the 04's and above.  You can get the flage from Sinrath and a wileyco tho.  Or if you want you can get just about any slip on and have a muffler shop fab you a mid pipe.  Boss500 did that with a yoshi tri oval exhaust.  Search yoshi you will find pic's of his bike.

Here's the link to his bike

Even if the voices aren't real they have some good ideas.

For the easiest exhaust on the GS500F just go with the Srinath exhaust flange and a Wileyco muffler.  You will only spend ~$150.00 compared to the $200.00+ for the V&H.  He is getting orders for some of his flanges as we speak.  Go to this link for more info:

No one as of yet makes an bolt-on exhaust system for our F models.  You can always modify something to make a slipon fit.

I'm calling BS. You had to have tweeked it in order for it to clear the oil pan bolts. There simply isn't enough room under there for it to work. Let's see it.

Stefan.

Sure it fit for you, but with modifications...  We're talking about just bolt-on.

Ah. The only mods needed to be done was for it to be welded on. Simple enough. But i know what you mean.

Thanks, I like it very much. I get lots of compliments on the sound of the bike on cruise nights (weekly meeting of cars/bikes). A rider at a red light on a R6 told me he loves the sound. Its alot louder then stock, and doesnt sound like no sewing machine, has a deep tone to it. It even shoots flames sometimes. no joke haha.  :thumb:

Stefman, that looks really really nice! I like the dual outlet thing it has going on, very good looking. As for the flame shooting though... sounds like you're in need of a rejet!
