shim quality

I ordered some shims from here:

I noticed that they don't seem to be the same 'quality' as stock suzuki shims.. they don't have a lip to help them seat in the bucket (which is no big deal) but what concerns me is that one came chipped.. and I found the chipped off piece in the envelope.  

If something like that happen in the motor that would be devastating.


Opinions? Cross my fingers and use them, or buy actual suzuki shims somewhere else?

I'm of the opinion to buy Suzuki, because I'm willing to pay for the quality, but the shim being nothing but a surface for the cam to push on, you could be allright, as long as the cam lobe isn't smackin' into the shim, the shim shouldn't fracture from the pressure; or chip off as you slip it into the bucket.

I would stay with factory Suzuki shims. We know they work. The few pennies saved is not worth the possible rebuild cost.

hmmm....now that I think about maybe you should try them and let us know how they work.
