So i live in san diego. Im fortunate enough to live by the beach. lived there all my life. I enjoy surfin a lot and i have seen some nice days in the water. Went out today and the life gaurds were playing the radio off the speakers that are built into the pier. it was cool. A couple dolphins breached no more than 4 feet from me. The sound of them goin for a gulp of air freaked me out because the first thing i saw was their dorsal fin. I like to think that when the dolphins are around the great whites arent near, yea great whites. Remember that one episode on flipper? where flipper beat the snot out of some shark? he kept jabbing it in the guy..haha. yea..It was a cool experience. Let it soak in. its okay. :mrgreen:

I live in Kansas City. There really isn't that much to do outside here so I went jogging. I went to the park to jog around this trail and I saw a dog attack some crazy punk rock dude. It bit him right in the eye ball. He was bleeding pretty bad, but he freaked out and started swearing at everybody, saying "Why doesn't anybody f*cking help me?". Then he threatened to beat up the dog's owner, which was this little old man. Then he ran up to me and screamed "Don't you care that I got bit?" I said, "Not really" and ran away.

San Diego sounds nice.

I've had a couple of close encounters with dolphins kayaking off the coast of Alabama and in the Mobile bay. I have paddled in the middle of large groups, and had them surface right next to me and made eye contact with that big eye of theirs. I got to see a 4 foot long baby swimming close to her mother once at a very close range... gave me goose-bumps.

You know they are close when you can hear their clicks and whistles. Amazing creatures.

Dolphins used to scare me when I surfed in San Diego. Last time my brother and I surfed newport they would head right for us and then dive underneath us, swimming under our boards, right between our legs. Those things are huge and they have scary teeth. I don't trust anything that smiles that much.
I haven't surfed in over a year. Dam I miss that.
