Rim Value Question ??

I have someone local asking to buy my spare front rim. I just have no idea that to ask. It's a white one off a 1994 model.

What is it worth I was thinking $100 cdn with out a rotor or tire.

I am not certain of the exchange rate today, but eBay rims go (without tires) from $10 US to $60 US depending on auction zeal. If you get $100 cdn from it,   Check the price of a new item on one of the online fiche and judge from there.


Something else to think about, if you damage one of yours, how much are you going to have to pay? Spares are a good thing to have, if space allows.

Yeah, GS rims don't fetch a lot of $$, especially the white ones!! Seems everyone is eager to get rid of the white ones. For what it's worth though, most salvage yards base their prices at half of retail, so if your below half of retail, you're in the ball park.

I have a complete 1997 GS with grey rims and the 1994 GS with white rims.

I also have a 1988 GSXR 750 front end with GS500 stem installed and 6 pot calipers if I need it.

I will be selling the 1997 and the 1994 as a pair once my 1999 GS is finished. Just cleaning the carbs and tuning up the motor this week.

I need to clean up the garage a bit. My 1981 CB750F and 1980 GS850G have to go.

Well then, it sounds to me like you've got a plan and the place to do it in. Super!

After I get on the road with my 90 GS, I plan to take the junkyard donor chassis and make an E-Zuki out of it. Then maybe look for a true 89 GS to clean up/restore.

After that, who knows? Honda 599? BMW project? Older GSX-R? Well actually I do know, my Vortex powered by a Blackbird post 98. My sig points to the main site for that jewel.

I also found an RGV swingarm from a sight in the UK. They want $55 sterling plus shipping. It's a newer model with bracing. I would love to get it but not until I move some other stuff.
