What does a 22 year old girl get for her dad?  His typical day is work from 3am-3pm...nap...computer...coaching softball..dinner...sleep & the Yankees! Just a tie doesn't cut it anymore...

What do all of you dad's out there love from your kids (who are over 18 and can afford more than a tie)???  I need help this year!

get him new riding gloves,  they are the ties of the bike gift giving.

Michael

What's his sense of humor like?  My kids know they can't go too far wrong with Gary Larson, Calvin and Hobbes, or Garfield.  Books are good, coffee mug, T-shirt, tie ( :o ), all in the motif, of course.  I guess he already has all his favorite Yankees stuff.  Something for the car or bike is always welcome as well.  Good luck.

My dad doesn't ride   lol   sorry (but my mom has her license, hasn't ridden in a few years though)

Keep the ideas comin' !!

His sense of humor is goofy...he loves George Carlin, Howard Stern, Opie and Anthony.  Maybe tickets to a comedy club might work....

Books are good, some say anything you can eat, drink or smoke. As a Dad and Grandad I can say visits and "Quality" time are best, take him out for a meal or a movie, visit the Zoo or the racetrack whatever is his thing. Maybe a ball game ?

I gotta put my vote in on the 'spend a day with Dad' list.

Yankee game, if you can get tix.

Better yet, buy him a yankee shirt, and then just hang out with him at a sports club, watch the game, have a few beers, some appetizers, and laughs.

I like the idea of "spend a day with Dad."  Make up a coupon or something saying you'll take him to lunch then...whatever, then whatever... then a ball game, then dinner"

He'll like that.

DVD of a movie you'd enjoy watching together? (That's what my son gave me for Mother's Day this year after he took me to lunch).

Hey Amanda,

On the Yankee game theme, you can always take him to see the Trenton Thunder.....Yankee AA farm team.  Great small stadium...not a bad seat in the house.  Tickets always available and you don't have to take a second mortgage out to go.  Many times Yankee players doing rehab play in Trenton for a few games before going back up to the big leagues.  Other thoughts depending on how much you want to spend is an mp3 player(I love my ipod) or grilling equipment.  My kids got me a great charcoal grill last year and I haven't used my gas grill since.

Cool...Thanks everyone...I guess I was overlooking the idea that just a nice day together means a lot more than the gift itself.

Maybe I can throw him on the back of my bike and take him for a ride  haha   If you only saw how big of a guy my dad is!

Ebay has tickets for so cheap!  I am definitely doing that...thanks again everyone.  Hope your kids treat you well on Father's Day! :thumb:

Jake D

I've got 4 tickets to the Yankees game tomorrow night (6/1).

The only problem is you'd have to get to Kansas City to use them.  Sorry.

My dad wants only tools.  So that's what he gets.

Jake, I am probably going to the game tomorrow night as well!!  My cousin is coming to town and is a huge Yankees fan.  Maybe I will see you there, I will be wearing a I *heart* KC shirt!

That is the free shirt they are giving out that night!

I've had some interesting gifts from my kids over time but the best was when my son phoned me casually saying he had a couple of tickets for Chelsea vs Blackburn Rovers in the English soccer premier league for a date that he knew I was off, why didn't I come up to London, do lunch, see the football and have a couple of beers. Bliss.

Ok, but what about some ideas for people that don't live near their Dads?  I have typically just been getting him books and whatnot, but I'm sure he would like a change.
