Listening to crickets and watching the tree tops

Apparently, last night was a good night to listen to the crickets and look at the tree tops...

That's what my GS thought anyway...

I picked up a squeak that sounds like a cricket...   :dunno:  But, it won't do it while I stopped, so I can't figure out where it's coming from.

Then my headlight burned out, so I had to ride home with my brights on...    :x

The worst part was when it burned out...  I was already riding, stopped at a stop sign...  Looked, turned...  WHERE'D THE ROAD GO?!?!?   :o

Looks like I'm eating bugs for lunch on my way to pick up a new light.

KilL buGZ gOOd.

Actually, bugs are drawn to the light, and you have no light, therefore no bugs.

And the squeek is the momentary squeel of happiness a cricket knows as it attempts to hitch a ride on the wheels of a GS...

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

RAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIID!!!!!

I'm gonna see if I can figure out what the hell it is...  Probably a loose bolt somewhere.

Too bad I don't have a torque wrench!  :x

Is the squeek rhythmic with the rotation of the wheels? Check your tread, I'll bet that little sucker (the cricket) is stuck in between the treadblocks. Otherwise, it's possibly your brakes rubbing. At worst, it could be your wheel bearings dried out of grease.

It literally sounds like a cricket...

It's rather random and doesn't have any sort of rhythm to it.  It goes away when in really low (idle) or higher (above 5k) revs...  Although...  Sometimes it shows up at 6k... :?

I really think it's a loose mounting bolt or exhaust bolt or something.  I haven't had to time to sit and rev the GS to find it, since I just noticed it yesterday.
