i stopped at a bmw dealer today to oogle bikes that have 90hp and cost more than a busa, and aked about good roads in the new philadelphia region, the old dude there was really cool and told me about a road called 164.

it is east of new philadelphia, from new philly you take 39 east (north?) to 212 east (south?) and 164 is just off of 212, 164 actually dead ends into 212.

it has some wicked corners. and some inexcusable elevation changes. breath taking, and possible life taking if you are careless. good pavement quality, a few poorly marked turns. ride it one way slow, then the other way faster.

if anybody in central or east ohio wants to plan a big day of riding this summer this road should be included, as should 715.

anybody else in ohio feel like riding some weekend post something, i'm looking for company.
The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.

Looks like SR164 is also called Amsterdam Road.  I only marked a small portion of it on the map below - it appears to go all the way off the map to the northwest.

beautiful map, i only rode it for a short distance, but it really is somthing, i need to bring a camera next time. there is one turn heading west that looks like it climbs at an impossible angle.

thanks for the map kerry, i always ramble about random roads without really saying their exact location. when i get home i'm going to scan my ohio atlas map page and mark my favorite roads so others can find them.

that would be a good excuse to make a web site. i'll get on it.

btw 715 is on sr36 between mount vernon and choshocton.

BTW, 160 looks wild!  (Just watch out for the railroad tracks, eh davipu?)

And 541 seems to have a few good curves just west of Coshocton.  :thumb:
