Here are some photos of the San Francisco Bay Area GS ride.

Left to Right: Mr Pink, Scratch, and I.  Yup, a whopping triad of us made it, but it was awesome.  I must say, we tore us off a chunk of twisty goodness.

Our ride was equal parts mountain twisties and cruising down the Pacific coast highway.  Absolutely beautiful.

I can't wait until the "Santa Cruz" edition.  Hope more of you can make it next time!
I came here to kick @$$ or chew bubblegum...and it looks like I'm all out of bubblegum.

Hey scratch, nice stache! very CHP in a CHIPS sort of way.  :P

Yeah, it pays to occasionally peruse the meet and greet forum.  I knew I should have posted in the main section a few days ago.
I'm gonna have to bump up the santa cruz thread for next month's ride.

CHiP's was COOL.  There were points at which I was humming the theme song and riding side by side in CHiPs fashion.  Damn you Eric Estrada!  Stop selling that crappy real estate and Sullying the good name of Ponch.

Well, before summer is out, we've got to go on another ride. :-)

It was on Sunday.  I'll probably be going to the "santa cruz edition" if scratch is still leading it.  He is a really good rider and it really frees you up to push the gs a bit on those unfamiliar road when Scratch sets the entrance speed for you.  Either we can meet up in berkeley and ride down to that or maybe we can set up an east bay GS ride (after I take the bar in july).

That's because I'ma sheitt rider. I was so over my head yesterday it wasn't funny, my left eye has a twitch now, and my arsehole is paralized in a permanent pucker.  There were some areas that I could have gone faster (I really need to dial in my suspension...)

Hey guys-
So, I am hopefully going to be a GS rider in the next couple weeks.  I live in Berkeley and would love to join in!  Cross your fingers on the bike working out.  Hope to meet up with you guys soon.

So...does this mean that a mere n00bie (one doc-less Wong ride under her belt) would be able to keep up with you killers????

I'm guilty of not checking the other forums, so I missed out this time.
If someone could PM me and keep me up to speed :) I would be greatful

For the noobs: Any skill level welcome :thumb:
Just ride at your comfort level. If everyone gets spreadout, they'll re-group when they get to a turn off, so nobody gets lost :)

I would like to take things a step farther and suggest a GS500 track day!!
Club Desmo has lots of dates at Buttowillow raceway. www.clubdesmo.com
Everybody signs up for the C group and I'll be your personal instructor/ guide
I'll ride my 89 GS. Maybe I'll break out the GSZILLA for a session

That reminds me, how'd that pipe sound driving away?  I've only ever heard it sitting on top

Sounds like a great ride guys, sorry I missed out

Do you need a valid license to attend a track session if you bring your bike in a truck?  I seem to have uhh...errr..uhhhh..."misplaced mine" at the police station.

:(

I can get a buddy to bring me and my bike though, and he has a CBR600.

They don't ask for a license :)

No need for safety wire. Just put tape on the headlight, tailight and signals. Remove mirrors (and anything else if you want).
Water cooled bikes need to flush the radiator of coolent and use water with water wetter. Tires should be in good shape (don't need to be new)
In the C group, full leathers not required. But if you can get a set it would help your confidence level. I have an extra set I can bring (I'm 5'8" 145)
I also have 3 extra sets of gloves.

Most of the track dates are weekdays at $135 in advance (includes lunch).
I know that might be a problem for some, but I'm sure you can come up with an excuse to get out of work  eh?
