Looking for photo of this fairing on a GS

no but my brother had a 79 gs550 with one on it.   i have a photo of it around here some where.  that bike looked good with it.

That's not the same fairing. The targa looks good on the GS IMO. That black cafe fairing looks like ass. I had one on mine and I hated it - didn't stay on long enough for photos. It just doesn't flow with the lines of the bike.

The targa does look better, now all I have to do is learn to shaZam! dollars and I am set!

Targas pricing makes you feel like your running backwards with a jar of vasoline. I could buy a full fairing for the cost of the cowl and fairing on that bike.

I guess the next logical question would be is there any other options I can look at for a cafe style fairing that doesnt look like crap on the GS and not feel like rectal drilling is going on in the payment department.

buy a FZR600/FZR400 upper fairing and sairing bracket and get a tab welded to your frame to hold it on
ya can go dual headlights...89-90, 93-98?
or single H/L 91-92

I used to have that fairing on my 96, but it was destroyed in a low speed crash.  I ended up spending almost as much getting the thing cut to fit the bike than I did buying it.  Its not bad, but I would get a nasty front end wobble when the fairing was on.

i had the same fairing a few years ago. its universal and it really doesnt fit the gs that well. bottom line is it s ugly as hell soooo.......no, dont get it :nana:

Right on, will skip that fairing then. Looked at the FZR600 one but really wasnt feeling that one either.
I really like the Targa one but its back to that whole " IF I have to spend that much, I will go full fairing" Thing.  Still looking. might just put two projectors on it and call it a day.  Just thought some form of small fairing would look better on it with the tail section I am running.

my bike was cafe-o-lishious when i bought it. it deflected no wind, it vibrated. and mine was painted cheap color change paint. it was gone instantly. targa good, generic cafe bad.

Look for a used one. I just sold a nice Targa fairing like that for 60 bucks on ebay.
