tore my engine out of the bike so mnay months ago....

anyway, i got the wiring harness all hooked back up except for 2 female wires off the main harness

they are brown and black/white

the only thing i can find in the wiring diagram with those colors is a "postion light"

any ideas what these go to?

I believe they are for the parking lights on euro model GS's.  They are switched on with the ignition.  On my '92 they connect to nothing!! :dunno:

Do they match the wires pictured in the 5th table row on my Installing a "Digital 5 Function Voltmeter" on a Suzuki GS500 page?

Are they located somewhere OTHER than the headlight bucket?

in those pictures it looked like a set of 3 wire

I dont know if they are in the headlight bucket or not, i dont have a headlight bucket anymore

these are just a group of 2 wires

I figured a position lamp may be like a daytime running lamp but i didnt know

im just gonna put the carbs on and see if it starts i think

those two wires are not connected to anything.  I believe the black/wt wire is a ground and the brown is switched + (on when ignition is on).

Looking at the larger version of the photo, it's definitely a 2-wire bundle.  The red wire is being added as part of the tutorial.

If the ones in the photo match the ones you're wondering about, don't worry about 'em -- they're not normally connected to anything.

EDIT: Added direct link to photo.

Well thats good to hear

All my wiring is inside the frame rails now and I figured it conected to the engine some place

my bike is coming back together very nicely

Just need the bodywork sprayed and then need to fab some headight brackets and it should be good to go
