first time biker...2 questions

Hey,

I am looking to buy my first bike.  Right now I am looking at a 2000 GS500E.  I am 6 foot 3, 200 pounds.  What will the comfort level be like for me on this bike?

Also, the lady is asking $1400.  It's got 20,000 miles.  Is this a good price?

I can't answer Question 1. :p  But I know it's been asked frequently in the past, with good answers from the bigger folk here.

2 depends on the condition, mods, add-ins, etc.  It's a decent price for a well-maintained bike.  If there are any issues, it might not be.  I paid about $2K a little over a year ago for a bone-stock 2000 with 2000 miles with light scrapes on the right from a drop at standstill.

Well I can only answer question 1. I'm 6'4"~6'5" (I've gotten conflicting results from doctors), weigh in at about 210, and have a 2004F. I'm actually fairly comfortable on my bike and it hauls me around pretty well. There have been times when I felt that my knees were a little scrunched, but that has only happened 3-4 times in the last 9 months. Overall I'm fairly happy. I might do some peg adjustments to put them into a more racing position though...

My best friend is just over 6' and when he has ridden my GS he said he was very comfortable.  

Another friend of mine (1st time rider) was shopping for  a first bike, so I let him sit on my GS (2000), and he said it felt really good.  He is about 6'3, 240, or so.  He was worried about looking like the fat clown on the mini-bike, but he liked the way the little GS felt.  He ended up getting a Volusia, but who can account for taste? :dunno:
