Mechanical advice?

I have a 1995 Suzuki GS500 that is in great shape, the problem is that is has sat in a garage for the last year. It is running quite rough and won't idle with out choke after warming up, nor
does rev up in direct proportion to the throttle.  I have to flutter
the throttle to keep the engine from dying.

Last summer, before putting the bike away, it ran perfectly,
many laps around a parking lot.

I've already siphoned and replcaced the gas.  Added carb cleaner to the new gas.  Checked and cleaned the plugs.  So far just
a little improvement.

Unless anyone has some quick and simple checks based on the above,  I think I'm reaching the end of mechanical expertise
and probably need to take it to a shop.  Any recommendations
on a reliable and reasonably priced shop near Santa Clara, California?

I've read places about needing to run the carburators dry before
non use, but the valve on this bike has only  ON, REServe, and
PRIme.  Is there an easy way or another way to handle this
besides running the tank dry?
Life is sexually transmitted.
The cardiologist's diet: If it tastes good ... spit it out.
Health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die.
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.

remove and clean your carbs-  relativly easy-  very cheap  all you need is a few cans of carb cleaner.
oops,  you'll need a new one of them

Yeah, pull the fuel line off the tank and drain the float bowls.  Just be sure to switch off the "prime" setting before yanking the fuel line (although that's also a faster way to drain the tank onto the floor}.
