Id say 50 lbs you can work off is better than 5 lbs of lung cancer, or cancerous tumors within your lungs....

{turn jackass off::}
don't worry there are a bunch of fatties here, we just keep it on the down low.   the easiest way to lose weight, speed.  both in pill form and long bike rides.   since one is now illegal I'll recommend the other.  a lite dinner (1000 calories less than whatever you're eating now) and an hour-long bike ride.
take this with a grain of salt, most americans take plesure in eating large meals for dinner then going to bed.  subconciously associating the meal with the childhood memory of meals at home.  the problem then lies in the amount consumed.  while sleeping the stomach wall muscles are relaxed, which leads to the full feeling ending sooner and overconsumption to compensate for the feeling.

the easiest way to solve this problem is to substitute something like riding your motorcycle to get the same pleasurable experience without consuming the excessive amount of food.

{:: jackass back on}
just remember, the amount of food that the average american eats will feed a whole Ethiopian family.
