Has anyone modded their GS with two round headlights for a "streetfighter" type look?  
Anyone have any pics of such a mod?  
And would the wiring be difficult?

not sure of the brand, but you should be able to buy almost the identical lights at autozone for $40-$50. I purchased a set when I was going to do the S3 conversion on the daytona. wiring would be a cinch. plenty of people on here have done dual setups, do a search and you should find a wiring diagram somewhere.

I'm a fan of the dual headlights. Makes me think of the speed triple  :mrgreen:

HEY,


I have been dreaming of the same conversion. At a rally this weekend they have demo rides on Speed Tripples, I love the headlights on them. I think the GS looks a bit like a tripple sio I think I will go w/ the same headlight setup.

There is a pick in the wall of fame of a GS w/ dual lights.. Its says "Doms Bike"

I have also thought about just using 4" driving lights? I dont know. I hope someone posts some more info. I would love to find some sort of kit.

I have found some simmilar to that.. but yours is very cool.. Where is it from? How much $$$ Was it? Are the lights bright enough? Do they have a high and low setting?

Where where you at 7pm on the 25th of sept o4 !!!!

There's always the buell lightning dual headlights for $50, and the wiring should be very straight forward too.

the buell lightning headlights are $60.  You can order them at any HD store.  I just installed them and they are a big improvement in both looks and function.  

I am having digicam problems, but I will try to post pix and a brief how-to soon.  There's a couple threads about how to wire them up and one guy made some cool brackets.  I couldn't get the brackets bent right, so I did it another way.  Pix as soon as I can.

I believe its a gixxer 750 fork setup, they came with dual discs.  From what I hear you can bolt up a katana and only have to make a spacer but on the gixxers its alittle harder.

It isn't a dual headlight setup, but I think the gs would look cool with the headlight off this bike

yes, the XB lights are the ones I got.  They come with bulbs, so unless you want to have replacements on hand, no need to buy the seperate bulbs.  Also, the mounting brackets will NOT help you mount the lights to the GS.
I just got a new card reader, so I will take some pics and post a brief how-to about how I mounted the lights.

To do what I did, you will need:

materials
  • the lights
  • approximately 2' of 1/4" x 1" aluminum or steel (available at Home Depot
  • one foot of 1/4 x 20 threaded rod (Home Depot)
  • one foot of 1/4" ID aluminum tubing (Home Depot)
  • some 18-22 and 16-18 guage male/female insulated bullet connectors (AutoZone or RadioShack)
  • six 1/4 x 20 nuts[/list:u]

    Tools:
    • drill and bits (suitable for drilling metal)
    • pipe cutter of suitable size for the 1/4 inch pipe
    • dremmel or other grinding tool
    • assorted wrenches and stuff
    • wire cutter/stripper/crimping tool or equivillent[/list:u]

      Pix and more info ASA I get my card reader working and can take pix (it's poouring rain outside right now)

Ordered my lights :) $58.50 + tax.. Hope hope they come w/ bulbs.. dealer said they dont. They are H7 I think? I will prob buy after market ones ne way
